Milton Wolsky (1916–1981)

Milton Wolsky was born on January 23, 1916 in Omaha, Nebraska. He attended the University of Omaha, the Art Institute of Chicago, and was a member of the Art Students League in New York with Julian Levi and Hans Hoffman. Wolsky has spent time as a commercial artist, craftsman, and illustrator for many national magazines including Colliers, Good Housekeeping, Esquire, and Readers Digest. In the years between 1946 and 1954, he was considered one of the top 25 illustrators in the country. Wolsky began oil painting full time in 1978, turning towards still lifes and found objects for his subject matter. Wolsky died in Omaha, Nebraska on October 26, 1981.
