Mayhem to Marvels (M & M)Children are guided through fun and creative lessons as they explore the magical world of art on the fourth June 24 • “Wild Beasts” – studying the works of John J. Audubon. “Eye-Poppin’ Portraits”Create various types of portraits including self-portraits, family portraits, and pet portraits inspired by artwork in The Eyes Have It exhibition. Tuesday, August 5 • 1:00-4:00 p.m. ADULT WORKSHOPS“Playing With Paper: Finding Your Creative Self”Artist Susan Hart encourages participants to reconnect with their creative side by exploring the art of collage. Wednesday, July 23 • 1:00-4:00 p.m. “The Art of Adornment”Jewelry artist Delora Hall imparts her love of jewelry-making by sharing her knowledge of stones and processes used in jewelry making and walks participants through basic techniques and composition. Third Thursdays at MONAJoin us for Third Thursdays at MONA, an art sampler featuring artists and performers from central Nebraska. From 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. every third Thursday from September through May, individuals gather at MONA to hear short presentations in music, poetry, or perhaps a short scene from an upcoming theatre offering or a dance demonstration, as well as a discussion of a MONA artwork. All the galleries are open and everyone is invited to enjoy light refreshments, visit with each other, and view the current exhibitions in a convivial and relaxing setting.
